Established in 1978 as the publishing sales agency Hornblower Books, Hornblower Group became an association of independent sales agents in 2007. As one of Canada’s most respected publishing sales groups, we have experienced, flexible sales agents in Toronto, Montréal, and Halifax. We are specialists in the Canadian publishing marketplace and will work with you to build your profile within Canada. We serve both domestic and international publishers and suppliers, but we do not over-extend our capacity and only accept new publishers if they complement the clients we already have.

Hornblower Group is composed of company owners not employees; we offer the assurance of a consistent and stable sales force. We also offer Canada-wide representation in partnership with other Canadian sales groups. The Hornblower Group sells books and stationery products in all Canadian markets: the Indigo Books & Music chain and independent bookstores, libraries, the university market, specialty stores, Costco Canada, Amazon.ca, the gift market and the special sales market.

We work closely with both our independent and chain bookstores in developing in-store pro­motions and events. As industry consultants, we have provided marketing support to our publishers and have participated in the success of many best-sellers, including Maeve Binchy, Ian Rankin, David Suzuki, Thomas Friedman and J.K. Rowling. Hornblower was responsible for introducing the Moleskine Notebook line across Canada.
